Special Education Paraprofessional/Health Care Aide

The San Luis Valley Board of Cooperative Educational Services (SLV BOCES) is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as a paraprofessional in one of our preschool classrooms, with additional responsibilities for addressing specific health needs of a student. The ideal candidate will have experience in both educational support and basic health care.
Key Responsibilities:
– Assist teachers in classroom activities and student supervision
– Provide one-on-one support for a student with special needs
– Perform health-related tasks as delegated, including suctioning and diapering
– Implement and follow the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
– Maintain accurate records of health interventions and student progress
Requirements:
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Experience working with young children, preferably in a special education setting
– CNA certification preferred
– Ability to perform delegated health-related tasks
– Patience, compassion, and strong communication skills
This position requires collaboration with teachers, parents, and health professionals to ensure the student’s educational and health needs are met in a safe, caring environment.
Salary range: $19.89-$23.14 per hour depending on education and experience
